A few weeks ago I decided that I really needed an assistant. After having my precious baby Genevieve in December, I had begun to throw myself back into the wonderful world of Special Events in Philadelphia. Bridal shows, networking events, weddings, charity responsibilities, the list goes on. I came to find out that my younger sister had a friend who is interested in this industry. Enter one Miss Tish Carney!
working in the business world, she looked back fondly on her times
fundraising while attending Penn State. She was highly active with
THON, as well as other organizations. Tish is really interested in
fundraising and special events for non-profits. We both thought that
jumping into the role as my assistant would help pad her resume, and
have some fun while doing so. She has been a great asset to my company
smart, and reliable are just some of the aspects that you look for in
an assistant. Not to mention humor. Thankfully Tish has all of these
traits down pat!
Her first official outing with me was to the VIP Magazine Event at Dave & Buster's on March 8th. For 10 years I have had a part time job at Midnight Sun Company. One of the bands we manage, Lost In Paris, was playing this event. It's always nice to be able to support both of my jobs at the same time. This also made for a really fun networking event for Tish to attend. We mingled, got our pictures taken in the Shutter Booth photo booth, rocked out to an awesome band, ate lots of Cupcake Gourmet treats, and loved seeing the Creative Juice people. Here's Tish with the baseball statue who scared her when he said "Hello."
The next event Tish helped me with was yesterday's First Annual Garces Catering Bridal Event. I love smaller, intimate bridal shows and I was so glad she got to experience it with me. The Cira Centre lobby was transformed into a beautiful event space. We were located right under the pergola which gave it a very outdoorsy feel. This went perfect with our table decor of terrariums, moss, succulents, and lace wrapped mason jars. We were privileged to be with some of the city's best wedding professionals. Check out some of the photos below.
