It’s no surprise that any wedding is made complete by details. An essential way to add ambience to any venue is by incorporating various lighting. Whether you want to create a romantic atmosphere complete with vintage candles or you want to create a shabby chic look by adding mixed lampshades, any wedding can be completely transformed with the use of lighting.

Lanterns

If there’s one way to create a romantic scene on your wedding day, it’s by adding lanterns. Vary the height that you hang them from to create a more natural look. This idea is super vintage and is a great alternative to your typical ballroom lighting. Add a few votives to the centerpieces to light when it gets a bit darker out!

Mini Lampshades

If you’re an ambitious bride, take on this adorable lighting project! Grab a strand of Christmas lights and some printed Dixie cups. Poke a hole in the top of each cup and use them as mini lampshades. This DIY project is inexpensive, but really spruces up the typical light strand.

Chandeliers

Sometimes, just one statement piece can speak volumes. We love this elegant crystal chandelier that adds charm to this outdoor table arrangement. There is something about bringing the indoor outdoors that creates the most perfect ambiance.  Stay tuned for pictures similar to this one from June 1st wedding at the Horticulture Center in Fairmount Park!

Regardless of the lighting that you choose to incorporate on your special day, just make sure that it is consistent with the overall vibe that you are trying to create.
