Venue Spotlight – The Farm at Eagles Ridge in Lancaster, PA
By: Chelsea DeSimone
It isn’t often that I instantly fall in love with a venue. However, one of my dear friends got engaged recently and asked me to be her maid of honor. As soon as I stopped making a scene in the cute little breakfast place that we were in, I went straight into planning mode. Smartly so, bride Hannah is planning for a 2015 wedding date; this gives us a good amount of time to plan without feeling rushed. Not to mention, there are much better opportunities to find the venue of her dreams.
Step one in Hannah’s wedding planning: locating the perfect place to have both her ceremony and her reception. After countless hours of browsing the web, we came across The Farm at Eagles Ridge in the heart of Lancaster. We were quickly drawn to the newly renovated, climate-controlled 1820s barn and the rolling hills of the property. We scheduled a walk-through this past weekend. Guys… the first wedding at this renovated venue was just three months ago!
The venue was even better than I could have imagined. The barn was just perfect and can hold up to about 220 guests; it had huge reclaimed doors that open up onto a stone patio, as well as windows that overlook the gorgeous grounds. Hannah loved the bathrooms adorned with Restoration Hardware goods throughout. As for me, I couldn’t take my eyes off of the industrial-looking chandeliers in the barn. There is even a big trough outside that can be converted into a bar if you fill it with ice – how cool is that?
As if this wasn’t enough, the stone farmhouse where the bridal party gets ready is to die for. I could seriously live there. The best part about the farmhouse is that the bride and groom have the option of renting out the entire upstairs the night of their wedding. The staff was incredibly nice and seems to be really accommodating, too!
I cannot say enough good things about this venue. If you are looking for a large barn with lovely property, look no further! Visit The Farm at Eagles Ridge’s website for more information: http://www.farmateaglesridge.com/
